Our Mission:
To be a Christian community maturing in faith through worship, fellowship, study and service; modeling the life of Christ by actively working for peace and justice, accepting and caring for all people and proclaiming God’s Word.
Kathy Koop
Pastor
Kathy Koop began as interim pastor at Grace Mennonite Church in January of 2024. She is excited to support and encourage the congregation in their endeavour to model the life of Christ by working for peace and justice, accepting and caring for all people, and proclaiming God’s Word.
Kathy grew up in Germany and after working in the field of nursing, she pursued theological studies in Switzerland, Canada, and the United States, obtaining a bachelor’s degree from Canadian Mennonite Bible College and a master’s degree from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary. She has worked as a high school teacher, a chaplain in a personal care home, an MCC worker with Russian Germans (Aussiedler) in former East Germany and Berlin and has for over 25 years worked in pastoral ministry.
She and Karl enjoy walking, reading, gardening, baking, knitting, and spending time around the dinner table with their four daughters and partners and three grandchildren.

Nina Pauls
Administrative Assistant
Nina joined the team at Grace in 2023. She has lived in and around Steinbach for her entire life, always to return no matter how far she roams. She has four grown children, and three beautiful grandbabies. Nina is forever amazed at the kindness, the community, and the heart of this church, and is absolutely floored to be part of it. When she’s not snuggling, reading to, or being supergrannie to her littlest loves, she enjoys long walks with friends, traveling, dancing and biking.
